Select a stage to reveal more about the design process.

Initial consultation

The first stage in creating your beautiful garden is a meeting to establish your thoughts and wishes and look at all the possibilities with you. We will obtain a full brief from you with a list of likes and dislikes! We then produce a detailed report for you with all the design costs clearly shown and a Concept plan with our initial ideas and design.

Site Survey

We would recommend an accurate survey of your garden to show all your boundaries and levels and to plot any existing trees or mature shrubs that you may wish to retain. For larger gardens we would recommend an independent Chartered Surveyor survey your garden.

Outline plan

After the concept plan we will produce a detailed outline plan drawn to scale and coloured. We can also produce axonometric drawings or 3d views of your garden if requested to help you better visualise your new garden or a particular view.

Planting plan

From our initial meeting we will have established your plant wishes and colour palette and we will prepare a detailed planting plan recommending suitable plants to suit your soil conditions and aspect. We can source the plants for you from appropriate Nurseries and Growers. In addition we can select the trees that you choose to complement the planting plan.

Construction plans

These are the technical drawings that deal with all the construction details for your project and explain fully how the garden will be constructed. These drawings mainly deal with the hard landscaping such as paving and walls and form the basis of a brief to your appointed Landscape Contractor. We will discuss with you all materials to be used in these will be detailed in our drawings.

Specification and scope of works

We produce these documents to detail the extent of works to your garden and assist the Landscape Contractor in the garden build and normally is in addition to the Construction plans above, all materials and method of construction are described. This document is used in the competitive tendering process.

If required we can help you choose an independent Landscape Contractor in your area and assist in the tender process in finding the right contractor for your project at a fair and reasonable cost.
